Bratwurst (or Frankfyrter) Rolls -- (from The Best Bread Machine Cookbook Ever (Ethnic Breads) by Madge Rosenberg)

1 c plus 2 tbsp water
2 tbsp olive or vegetable oil
2 3/4 c bread flour or 2 1/4 c bread flour and ½ c rye flour
1 tbsp sugar
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp caraway seeds
1½ tsp bread machine yeast

Measure all ingredients in bread machine pan in the order listed. Select Dough/Pasta setting.

When dough cycle ends, remove dough from machine. Divide into 12 pieces. On a floured surface, roll each piece into a 6-inch-long stick and place 2 inches apart in a lightly greased baking sheet to rise.

Move oven rack to lowest position. Heat oven to 375ºF. Cover and let rolls rise in warm place about 30 minutes or until almost double in size.

Bake 10-15 minutes or golden brown. Let cool at least 15 minutes. Split the long way

Makes 12 rolls.
