Hommous -- (our modified version)

1 can chick peas drained or ~ 2-3 cups cooked chick peas½ c tahini
2-4 garlic cloves, crushed2 tsp olive oil
4-6 tbsp lemon juiceblack pepper to taste
Sumac
Place all ingredients in food processor and blend until smooth. Sprinkle "Sumac" on top. Serve with vegetables, crackers or bread.

Variation:

2-3 tsp spiced oil1-2 large red peppers cored and seeded cut in ¼

Heat oil, cook peppers ~5-10 minutes on medium to high until skin is slightly browned or burned - add to chick peas, garlic, tahini, lemon juice and pepper, blend in food processor. Garnish with "Sumac"
