Classic French -- (from Black and Decker All-in-One Deluxe Automatic Breadmaker)

1¼ c water
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
3 1/3 c white flour
1½ tsp yeast

Measure all ingredients in the order written into baking pan. Insert baking pan into breadmaker oven chamber. Close lid. Select: Dough/Pasta setting. Press start

When cycle is complete, remove dough from machine to a lightly floured surface. Roll out dough until the size of the pizza sheet. Cover and let rise in a warm, draft-free place until it doubles in size, ~30 minutes. With a sharp knife make 3-4 diagonal cuts about ¼ inch deep across the top of the loaf.

Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.

Variations: Add herbs or spices to the ingredients placed in breadmaker, e.g. basil, chili flakes, parmesan, etc.
